Welcome to the Lounge — we are your humble hosts. Sit down, stay a while, we promise to be a good time.
Jesse Buggey
Back in the days of flip phones and iPods, Jesse and Jeff met while attending Temple University, bonding over a love of playing, seeing, and listening to music. When not in class, the two would ride bikes throughout the city, trying to snag hidden gems at the local record shops.
A native of the greater Philadelphia region, Jesse now lives in Bethlehem, PA, home of Martin Guitar, Peeps, and Crayola. By day he is a healthcare worker, but by night he enjoys pursuing his hobby and passion of photography (@jbuggphoto). Combining his love of live music and photography, Jesse has been building his portfolio as a concert photographer, snapping shots of some of his favorite artists. Be sure to contact him the next time you find yourself in the Lehigh Valley to grab a beer, talk music, or see to a show.
Jeff Glowik
Born and raised in Peabody MA (where he met Rob), Jeff is now a proud Philadelphian (where he met Jesse) with a short stint in between in Brooklyn (where he met Justin.) Music has played a central role in his life since childhood. He was raised on music such as the Chicago blues, Van Morrison, grunge etc, then became obsessed with the smaller independent punk/emo scenes around the country and then eventually…everything else…finding a deep love for jazz, funk, soul and music from around the globe. He grew up playing in bands with Rob around the Northshore, has gone to countless shows with all the Lounges fellas over their 20+ year relationship and has been digging records for just as long.
When he’s not tearing it up at The Lounge, he works in education. His career started as a teacher in Brooklyn, then he became a Principal of a school in North Philly and now he’s an Executive Director at a teacher preparation program.
Rob Hughes
The Lounge's resident emo-apologist and craft beer industry insider, Rob, has been gladly, more or less, suffering Jeff's musical opinions since high school. Although he rarely shows up on time for his shift at the Lounge and always seems to have found time to stop for food on the way, his seat never stays cold for long.
Justin McNamara
Justin, aka the Vinyl Historian, grew up in the Deep South where his love of music and record collecting originated from. It was all sparked by inheriting his Dad's Southern and classic rock albums and now has emerged into a collecting addiction. Justin loves all types of music but has a special fondness for collecting an eclectic mix of groove oriented music ranging from Braizilian to soul-jazz. He has been living in Brooklyn for the last 16 yrs working as an educator and historian. It's in Brooklyn where Jeff and Justin connected through teaching and this music obsession really took off. These days he loves spending time with family, being outside and of course digging for records.
